ABOUT THE ARTIST
Julia expresses her unique vision and individual style, embracing the beauty of all things, her love of
portraiture, and the emotive nature of elements through composition, light and form. Additionally, the delicate touch which is often apparent throughout her work, is a result of her fondness for using neutral and soft tones within her images.

Julia’s love for capturing moments and getting creative began when she started travelling. She found she
enjoyed taking different genres of photography, from holidays to landscapes and streets. Her interest in
seriously pursuing photography finally peaked when she realised that she would benefit professionally from further study. Since then Julia's attention to detail, her focus and general enthusiasm for this art form, led her to be selected as 2018 winner for the “Fact or Fiction” art prize at Melbourne Polytechnic, and a top 50 finalist in the 2018 APA Portrait category.

‘IT'S BEEN A WHILE..."
With Covid19 lockdowns in Melbourne, we have been socially removed from the outside world. As a result, there has been a disconnect and sense of isolation, to the point of driving ourselves crazy with our own company and our own thoughts. Combining a love of portraiture with conceptual photography, my series ‘It’s
Been a While…’ is a slightly quirky visual representation of how we have battled through these bizarre and unthinkable times.
