Jazmine Clendenning
Epoch 2021
Diploma of Visual Arts
I'm an artist from Melbourne, Australia. I was inspired from an early age by all sorts of art because of my older sister, who I’ve always looked up to. As I got through high school, I discovered photography, which pushed me to focus on visual art and all its aspects, though I ended up putting it on the back burner for different pursuits. After switching from a psych degree to an art course 2 years ago, I haven’t looked back since.
The paintings, prints, drawings and mixed media pieces I created in this course have centred on darker, more abstract visuals in this dreaded year of 2021. I also focused on developing my skills and ideas as I work on my “sigil” style in these different mediums. These sigils are important to me because they were therapeutic to draw and paint, which allowed me to take a break from reality for a little while.
