Finding beauty in the decay.
This year I have taken a more experimental approach which has opened a lot of new pathways, breaking down certain mental barriers within my art making process.
These new experimental approaches involve using what I have around me at the time, embracing a more sustainable way of making which I feel is an extremely important thing to be aware of as an artist in these times. A lot of the pieces I made this year were made out of old artworks I had formed new visions for. My practice would usually involve elements of burning, tearing, scrapping, cutting and cracking, a process of unearthing old layers of paint. focusing on the details of materials in themselves, and their innate properties.
